Hancock County Humane Foundation is a humane society located in New Cumberland, West Virginia, about 2 miles south of Weirton, WV, open Sundays from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. The Foundation has been saving animals in Hancock County for over 30 years, vetting and housing over 200 cats annually and placing them into forever homes through adoption events. It also runs a bi-weekly pet food pantry, has held low-cost spay and neuter clinics resulting in over 1,000 cats altered, and operates a Trap Neuter Release program to control the population of feral and stray cats. Its mission centers on ending euthanasia as a means of population control, reserving it only to end suffering, while providing community resources like low-cost spay/neuter information, TNR assistance, and emergency medical bill assistance.
