Rescue Dog & End of Life Sanctuary in Mountain City, TN
Rescue Dog & End of Life Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3), no-kill dog rescue based in Mountain City, Tennessee, about 90 miles east of Winston-Salem, NC. Holding NACA ACO Certification, the organization partners with the Johnson County Sheriff's Department to serve Johnson County and its surrounding areas, pulling animals from kill shelters before euthanasia and working to rehabilitate and rehome them. While dogs are the primary focus, the sanctuary also takes in cats in need. Entirely reliant on donations and volunteers rather than government funding, it covers costs for vaccines, flea medication, wormer, and spay/neuter services out of pocket, guided by the belief that every life matters.
