H.O.P.E. Acres Rescue in Bonneau, SC

H.O.P.E. Acres Rescue is a rescue organization located in Bonneau, South Carolina, approximately 35 miles south of North Charleston. Operating since 2010 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, it rescues, rehabilitates, and provides sanctuary for neglected and abused horses from across the state. The organization relies on donations and volunteers to feed and provide life-saving veterinary treatment to horses that are sick, starving, or otherwise in need, with the goal of finding many of them good adoptive homes. Visits to the facility are welcomed by appointment only, to protect the safety of guests and horses alike.

Adoption process

Adopting requires a farm visit, a farrier, a vet, and at least two references, at least one other horse already at the home, a minimum of 2 acres of pasture space, and a donation to the rescue; applicants must also complete an adoption application.
