About this shelter

Heart of Texas SPCA in Boerne, TX

Heart of Texas SPCA is a "no-kill" dog shelter and rescue based in Boerne, Texas, about 25 miles southeast of San Antonio. Established in May 2000, the organization is a Texas-registered 501(c)3 nonprofit that receives no city, county, or state funding and relies solely on public donations, adoption fees, and volunteer support. As a humane society, it provides temporary shelter and care for homeless and unwanted dogs and puppies, ensuring every pet offered for adoption is fully vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and micro-chipped, while also offering rehabilitation for animals traumatized by abuse, neglect, or injury. The shelter is open daily from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, guided by its mission that every dog deserves a chance.
