Alaska SPCA is a humane society based in Anchorage, Alaska, within Anchorage Municipality, where 14 other animal shelters and rescues also operate. Located about 3 miles north of Anchorage, the organization has served the community for over 70 years with a mission to reduce the suffering of Alaska's dogs and cats. It operates a low-cost veterinary clinic offering vaccines, spay/neuter, dental, and wellness care alongside an Adoption Center that places rescued cats and dogs into new homes, and it runs a food bank and emergency assistance programs to support pets and their families. The organization is an independent, donor- and volunteer-supported 501(c)(3) nonprofit recently rebranded as Alaska PAWS (Partners for Animal Welfare & Safety).
