About this shelter
Moffitt Animal Shelter in Humboldt, IA
Moffitt Animal Shelter is located in Humboldt, Iowa, about 90 miles south of Des Moines. It provides temporary sanctuary and humane care for unwanted, lost, and neglected dogs and cats, with a focus on promoting responsible pet ownership and population control through spay and neuter. The shelter treats adoption like matchmaking, working with applicants to find the right fit for their home and partnering with rescue organizations when a suitable pet isn't currently on-site. It also runs a TNR (trap-neuter-return) program for community and feral cats when funding allows, and adoption fees include age-appropriate vetting and spay/neuter services.
