About this shelter
The Hawaii SPCA of Maili in Waianae, HI
The Hawaii SPCA of Maili is a humane society located in Waianae, Hawaii, about 10 miles east of Waipahu, and is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. It operates as a sanctuary for neglected, abandoned, or abused animals, taking in dogs, cats, pigs, chickens, guinea pigs, and rabbits, and works to get each one vetted, fixed, socialized, and matched with a forever family, with some remaining at the sanctuary permanently when needed. The organization is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that received its charity status in 2014 and also runs the Ma'ili Free Food Pantry, which provides free food for people and their pets. Run by a small team who took the sanctuary to self-sufficiency through donations, grants, and volunteer support, it emphasizes compassionate, humane treatment for all animals in its care.
