Sweet Olive Farm Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescue organization located in Winterville, Georgia, about 6 miles west of Athens, GA. It serves as a sanctuary for a wide variety of rescued animals, including alpacas, donkeys, mini-horses, sheep, goats, pigs, turkeys, geese, chickens, a wild mustang, an emu, and dogs, all cared for on a farmhouse property with a hundred-year-old barn amid rolling pastures. The rescue takes in many sick and injured animals that others can't care for, and its journey began with dog rescue before growing to include the many species on the farm today. Named after one of its long-time rescued dogs, Olive, the organization has operated at its current rented property since June 2010 and relies on donations, sponsorships, and farm shop proceeds to fund feeding, veterinary care, and shelter upkeep.
