Aspen Animal Shelter is a privatized, self-sustaining animal rescue located in Aspen, Colorado, roughly 100 miles east of Lakewood, CO. It combines a boarding kennel, grooming salon, and pet shop to generate the income needed to provide sanctuary for homeless dogs and cats of Aspen, Pitkin County, and beyond, occasionally sheltering birds and rabbits as well. Every homeless pet is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped prior to adoption. The shelter is open every day of the year from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., including Monday through Sunday, and welcomes visitors to come socialize with the animals.
