Yakima Humane Society is a humane society located in Yakima, Washington, roughly 100 miles northwest of Tacoma, WA. It is a 100+ year-old animal shelter dedicated to serving animals in the Yakima area, taking in dogs and cats through owner surrenders, strays, and animal control units, and providing them with veterinary care, spaying and neutering, microchipping, and help finding a forever home. The organization rescues, reunites, rehabilitates, and re-homes 4,000 to 5,000 animals every year, and it maintains a Yakima Adoption Center, an Ellensburg Adoption Center, and a Yakima Spay & Neuter Clinic. The shelter is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 AM–12:30 PM and 1:30–6:00 PM.

Visit the adoption center, call, or email to start the process; submit a pre-adoption questionnaire subject to approval (adopters must be 18+), and same-day adoption is available for approved adopters, with dogs required to leave with a collar and leash and cats in a carrier.
