It is open daily from 12:00 to 5:00 PM, seven days a week. The center cares for dogs, cats, exotics, and small companion animals, offering them for adoption while also housing many in foster homes as they await their forever families. Its mission is carried out by working with citizens and other animal welfare organizations, enforcing state and city domestic animal laws, providing educational programs, and humanely caring for unwanted, stray, abused, and abandoned animals in the city; standard adoption fees are $20 for dogs and cats, with reduced $1 fees for animals in care 6+ months, seniors 7 years and older, and small companion animals.
