The Humane Society of El Paso is a private, non-profit animal shelter located in El Paso, Texas, about 6 miles southwest of the city center, that does not receive any city, state, or federal funding and instead relies on grants, adoption fees, private donations, and fundraising events for its operating expenses. Guided by the motto "Life-Saving for Pets, Life-Changing for People," the shelter places homeless dogs and cats into adoptive homes, runs a foster program, and operates the Mary Speer Community Cat Program, which provides spay/neuter services for community cats. It also offers education programs, summer camp, surrender services, and end-of-life services including humane euthanasia and pet cremation. The shelter is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Wednesday from 1:00 to 6:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
