RG CARES Animal Shelter is located in Ramapo, New York, about 20 miles southeast of Yonkers, and is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 12:00 to 5:00 PM. The shelter is operated by Four Legs Good, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit no-kill animal rescue serving Rockland County, which took over shelter operations in 2023 and is dedicated to the compassionate rehabilitation and rehoming of cats, dogs, and small animals in need. Since then, it has focused on exceptional standards of care, support for the local rescue network, and strong community partnerships, and has facilitated over 1,900 adoptions, 2,300 neuters, and 1,750 transfers. Adopters browse available animals, submit an application, meet with the team to discuss lifestyle and preferences, and receive ongoing support after welcoming a new companion home.
