Adoption Process

Adoption fees are $50 for dogs and $40 for cats, covering age-appropriate vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, and microchip; all animals are spayed/neutered before release, which sometimes requires a short wait of 2-4 days after paperwork before pickup.

Noah's Ark Animal Shelter in Carlsbad, NM

Noah's Ark Animal Shelter is located at 5217 Buena Vista Drive in Carlsbad, New Mexico, about 70 miles north of Roswell. The shelter is open Monday 12:00–4:30 PM, Tuesday through Friday 12:00–5:00 PM, and Saturday 11:00 AM–4:00 PM. Animals brought in by Animal Control or found running loose are held for a 4-day stray period before becoming shelter property eligible for placement, while owner-surrendered animals may be placed immediately pending medical and temperament evaluation. Every adopted animal is spayed or neutered prior to release, and the shelter also offers foster and volunteer programs for those looking to help cats and dogs in its care.
