The Kearney Area Animal Shelter is a no-kill, non-profit shelter located about 2 miles east of Kearney, Nebraska, dedicated to providing a safe and loving environment for dogs and cats in need. Its mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and find forever homes for every animal that comes through its doors, and to date the shelter has adopted out or reunited over 20,000 pets with their families. The shelter is a proud member of the Hill's Food, Shelter & Love® program and offers adoption, fostering, and volunteer opportunities to the community. It is open Tuesday through Friday from 1:00–5:00 PM, Saturday from 11:00 AM–4:00 PM, and Sunday from 12:00–4:00 PM.
