San Diego Humane Society's Project Wildlife in San Diego, CA

San Diego Humane Society's Project Wildlife is located in San Diego, California, about 4 miles southeast of the city, and is open daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Founded in 1972, it has grown into one of the largest wildlife rehabilitation organizations in the country, serving as the primary resource for wild animal rehabilitation in San Diego County. Its staff and volunteers care for more than 10,000 native birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians each year, representing over 320 species to date, and operate under permits from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The program's mission is to improve the quality of life for local wildlife and the community, helping people coexist peacefully with their wild neighbors.
