It is part of the Arizona Animal Welfare League, the state's oldest and largest no-kill shelter, which does not euthanize healthy or treatable animals even when at capacity, reserving that option only for terminally ill animals or those dangerous to public safety. AAWL's mission is to provide excellent care, protection, and loving compassion for the animals entrusted to it while promoting humane values for the benefit of all animals and people. The organization is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit and helps connect adoptable dogs and cats with loving homes.
