Adoption Process

Applicants must be 18 or older and complete an adoption application (online for dogs, printable for cats), then visit the shelter in person on a first-come, first-interviewed basis to meet and bond with a pet, after which they complete adoption paperwork, pay the adoption fee, and take the pet home with required collar/leash or carrier and up-to-date vaccinations.

NWA Humane Society for Animals, Inc. is a no-kill humane society located in Rogers, Arkansas, about 8 miles south of Springdale, AR. Founded in 1963, it has helped more than 100,000 animals over the decades, offering shelter and adoption services, spay/neuter programs, and community education for dogs and cats from rural Benton County. The shelter cares for roughly 85 dogs and 20 cats at any given time, taking in around 800 dogs annually, and most of its adoptable animals are strays that were dumped or abandoned, along with pets surrendered by owners or transferred from local animal control. It also operates as a Transport Hub, partnering with organizations across Arkansas and other states to assist with emergency transport, disaster relief, and placing pets in homes beyond the region. The shelter is open Wednesday through Sunday, 10:30 AM – 4:00 PM.
