Adoption Process

The adoption process includes several steps: submitting an application, participating in a personal interview, having a meet and greet, undergoing a home inspection, and finally, placement of the animal. Follow-ups will occur at 30 and 90 days after placement. The minimum donation for placement is $75, while the maximum is $300, with the placement cost reflecting considerations for veterinary bills.

Displaced Pets is committed to rescuing Pomeranians and other small breeds in Northwest Oregon. Our mission is to find these dogs loving forever homes while providing them with essential socialization, training, and veterinary care. We strive to educate current dog owners and help them determine the best solutions for their circumstances. Many challenging situations can be addressed through compassionate training and support. When necessary, we accept rescue dogs that we aim to place in nurturing pet homes. As we are entirely self-sustained, our resources are limited, which restricts the number of rescues we can accommodate each year. We receive dogs from various sources, including local shelters and individual owners. We only take in dogs that we believe can thrive in a new home after receiving our care and support. Our approach focuses on building each dog's confidence, preparing them for successful transitions into new relationships. We also work closely with new owners to ensure that these relationships flourish. My passion for the Pomeranian breed has driven my private rescue efforts for over a decade. With the establishment of Displaced Pets Rescue, I am now able to expand my work to help more animals in need by providing them with love, care, training, and rehabilitation before placing them in loving homes.
