Adoption Process
To begin the adoption process with Paws Across Pittsburgh, interested individuals should fill out an online application. This step may involve a phone interview to better understand the applicant's needs and lifestyle. Paws Across Pittsburgh is a non-profit animal rescue organization, classified as a 501(c)(3), based in the Pittsburgh area. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs and cats that are homeless, abused, or unwanted. We operate entirely with the help of volunteers, focusing on providing veterinary care, socialization skills, and nutritional support while the animals are in loving foster homes. Every animal that comes into our care receives necessary veterinary treatment, including spaying or neutering, vaccinations, and preventative care. Our primary goal is to ensure that each animal finds a loving, permanent home. We also offer a monthly pet pantry, provide temporary fostering for emergency situations, and have a Senior Pets for Seniors program, among other services.
