I am a 44-year-old woman who has transformed the second and third floors of my paid-off home into a cat rescue and sanctuary. My children are now adults, and although two of them still reside with me, they support my efforts. I rescue cats from outdoor or unsafe environments and take in kittens from the streets, while also participating in a Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR) program for their mothers to address the issue of overpopulation. I am motivated by the significant need for these services and feel compelled to take action rather than remain passive.

Adoption process

Cats available for adoption from SOS are already spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and have undergone a combination test. We require adopters to sign a contract, which we discuss in detail. This contract stipulates that if the cat becomes ill, the adopter should take it to a veterinarian, with a recommended vet provided. Additionally, we ask that the cat never be declawed, and in case of any issues, the cat can always be returned to us. Our adoption fees range from $120 to $150.
