Adoption Process

Prospective adopters are required to complete an application. Each application will be reviewed, references will be checked, and we will make every effort to find the best match for each dog. We request that adopters cover the costs associated with spaying or neutering, vaccinations, microchipping, and any initial acquisition fees. Additionally, an adoption contract must be signed, and if applicable, a spay/neuter contract must also be completed.

They Deserve Better Dog Rescue in Smithfield, PA

For the past fourteen years, volunteers at They Deserve Better Dog Rescue have committed their time and resources to saving and improving the lives of mistreated, neglected, and unwanted dogs. To date, the organization has rescued and rehomed over 2,800 dogs. Referrals come from various sources, and there are sometimes fees required to remove dogs from potentially harmful situations. Private vehicles are utilized to transport these dogs from puppy mills, kill shelters, and unsafe environments to private homes, where they are cared for until they can be matched with a permanent, loving owner.
