Adoption Process

The adoption process begins when an applicant submits an online application. We then contact the applicant's personal and veterinary references, conduct a phone interview, and arrange a home visit. After this, we set up a meet and greet between the applicant and the dog. Once the applicant decides to proceed, they will sign an adoption contract and pay the adoption fee, which is $350 for dogs less than one year old, $275 for dogs aged one to nine years, and $150 for dogs older than ten years. Additionally, transport fees apply: $25 for distances between 50 and 150 miles, and $50 for distances over 150 miles. Upon completion of these steps, we schedule the drop-off of the dog.

We are a dedicated group of volunteers with a strong passion for animal rescue, particularly focused on dachshunds and dachshund mixes. This shared commitment inspired us to elevate our grassroots fundraising efforts by establishing a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing these breeds. Our work is driven by our love for animals and the dachshund breed. The leadership team includes Corinne Zoscak as President, Kimberly Wykoff as Treasurer, and Natalie McIntosh as Secretary. Corinne and Kimberly manage the majority of the organization's operations, while Natalie oversees the website and provides support for brainstorming and idea development. Additionally, we are supported by a committed group of volunteers, foster parents, and transporters who help us achieve our mission.
