Adoption Process

Camp Papillon is dedicated to finding lifelong, loving homes for our companion animals. Each animal and home possesses unique traits and needs. To facilitate this process, we place our animals in home foster care, allowing us to better understand their personalities, training levels, preferences, and dislikes. To help us match the right companion animal with a suitable home, we ask potential adopters to email us their responses to specific questions, along with any additional information that may assist us. Following this, a Camp Papillon Adoption Coordinator may conduct a phone interview and arrange a home visit. An adoption contract and subsequent follow-up checks are mandatory for all adoptions. Due to the possibility of multiple applicants for certain animals or mismatches in compatibility, not every application will be approved. Additionally, due to staff limitations, not all applicants will receive a response. We retain the right to decline any adoption request without explanation. Our adoption fees are as follows: - Dogs: $250 - Puppies: $300 (with a $50 refund upon proof of spay/neuter) - Cats: $75 - Kittens: $100 (with a $25 refund upon proof of spay/neuter) - Rabbits, ferrets, and similar animals: $25 You may wonder why our fees are higher than some other adoption options. The reason is that our animals receive comprehensive veterinary care. Thanks to our non-profit status, we can provide this care at a lower cost than individuals typically incur. Adopting an animal for a lower fee may result in higher expenses for you later on. Ensuring that your pets are spayed or neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations helps prevent diseases and health issues.

Camp Papillon is a non-profit animal rescue organization committed to helping homeless animals through a no-kill policy.

Camp Papillon Adoption & Rescue Inc in Stroudsburg, PA

Camp Papillon is a non-profit, no-kill animal rescue organization recognized as a 501c3. Our mission is to provide a safe haven for homeless animals until they find their forever homes. Currently, all our animals are cared for in foster homes, as we do not have a physical facility for housing them. Our dedicated volunteers open their homes to dogs, cats, rabbits, and other animals in need. This foster care system allows volunteers to assess the animals' behavior and interactions with people and other pets, ensuring appropriate placements for adoption. While some animals may be ready for adoption immediately upon entering our care, others may require training or help with behavioral issues before they can be adopted. Unlike many shelters that may euthanize animals deemed unadoptable, we prioritize their well-being through our foster program, which promotes socialization with people and other animals. Camp Papillon covers all expenses related to the care of the animals in our foster program, including veterinary care, food, toys, and treats. Our foster families provide the essential love and attention these animals need during their time with us.
