Adoption Process

The adoption process begins with the submission of an adoption application. After reviewing the application and conducting a vet and reference check, we will reach out to the interested party to arrange a meet and greet. If all parties are interested following this meeting, we will conduct a home visit. Once the home visit is complete and all requirements are met, we will finalize the adoption. We are committed to the well-being of our pets and will always accept them back, regardless of how long they have been with the adopter. Adoption fees vary, but our standard rates are as follows: Puppies typically have an adoption fee of $275, which covers all current veterinary care, including two DHLPP vaccinations, bordetella, and two dewormings by 8 to 10 weeks of age, as well as any remaining veterinary care at our facility when due, such as one additional DHLPP vaccination, rabies vaccination, and spay/neuter procedure. For adult dogs, purebred dogs usually have an adoption fee of $225 and will be current on all vaccinations and spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Mixed breed adult dogs typically have an adoption fee of $175 and will also be current on all vaccinations and spayed or neutered before adoption. Adult bully mix dogs generally have an adoption fee of $150 and will be current on all vaccinations and spayed or neutered prior to adoption.

Lucky K9 Rescue in St. Charles, MO

Lucky K9 Rescue is dedicated to finding loving, responsible, and committed permanent homes for dogs. Our adoption process is thorough, ensuring careful consideration in matching dogs with prospective adopters while educating them about the responsibilities and costs associated with dog ownership. All animals in our care are spayed or neutered and receive appropriate veterinary care and treatment. They are placed in nurturing foster homes as they await their permanent placements. We assist dogs in distress, regardless of age, breed, or ease of placement, prioritizing those in the greatest need as our finances allow. We are committed to maintaining low administrative expenses so that nearly all contributions directly support animal care. Our organization remains engaged in the welfare of each dog even after the adoption process. Additionally, we aim to collaborate with local shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to build a network of supporters and volunteers, working together to improve the lives of homeless pets.
