Adoption Process
Adoption fees may vary based on current promotions. All prospective adopters are required to participate in an adoption interview with a staff member or senior volunteer and to meet the pet in person. During this process, questions will be asked to ensure a suitable match. An adoption contract will be provided for review, and a week-long foster-to-adopt trial is permitted.

RACS is a small municipal shelter that embraces an open-intake policy and has ambitious goals. In 2018, we adopted a No Kill resolution and have been actively developing and refining programs aligned with the No Kill Equation to enhance our lifesaving efforts. As of August 2019, RACS has maintained a save rate of over 90% for all its animals for six consecutive months.
