Adoption Process
The adoption process consists of several important steps designed to ensure a successful match between you and your future pet. First, you will need to complete an adoption application. This application requires information about your family and details regarding any past or current pets you may have. Next, we will conduct a veterinary check. By signing the application, you grant us permission to contact your veterinarian to obtain information about your current and past pets. It is important that you have good veterinary records, as this demonstrates your responsibility as a pet owner. Following this, a home visit will be arranged. If you wish to adopt a dog, it is essential that you have a fenced yard. During the visit, we will assess the area to ensure there are no potential escape routes. We will not proceed with the adoption unless any identified issues are resolved. Once the home visit is satisfactory, you will enter a trial period of at least one week with the pet at your home. This trial allows you to determine if the pet is a suitable fit for your family. If, for any reason, the pet does not work out, we will arrange to take the pet back. When you feel confident that the pet is a good match, we can finalize the adoption. This involves signing an adoption contract, in which you commit to being a responsible and loving owner for the pet's entire life. Lastly, there is an adoption fee of $150 for dogs and $100 for cats. This fee helps cover the costs associated with veterinary care. All of our rescues are fully vetted, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, spaying or neutering, and being free of parasites. Dogs will also be microchipped, tested for heartworm, and provided with heartworm prevention, while cats will be tested for FIV and FELV.
