All prospective adopters must complete an application. The adoption fee is $100 for dogs and $50 for cats.

Rescued Pets Movement Inc. in Houston, TX

Rescued Pets Movement Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization comprised entirely of volunteers. Our mission focuses on transporting animals from shelters in the Houston area to other nonprofit animal welfare organizations across the country that are in need of adoptable pets. Each year, thousands of dogs and cats in the Greater Houston area are euthanized due to pet overpopulation. After years of collaboration with various rescue groups, the founders of Rescued Pets Movement recognized that forming strong partnerships with reputable shelters and rescue organizations, both locally and in regions where pet overpopulation is less severe, is the most effective way to save these animals. We facilitate transportation for these pets, which not only prevents them from being euthanized but also contributes to the goal of transforming Houston shelters into no-kill facilities. For instance, in late summer 2013, our collaboration with BARC enabled us to save over 450 pets by relocating them to Colorado.
