Adoption Process

To complete the application and adoption agreement, adopters must be of legal age. References from a veterinarian and residential contacts are required as part of the process. Adoption fees range from $50 to $100, with senior animals typically costing $50, puppies $100, and adult animals $75. These fees help cover some of the veterinary care provided for the animals, many of whom may be heartworm positive or have skin conditions.

Shelter Pets Go Home in Houston, TX

We are a network of dedicated and proactive community members in the Houston, TX area, committed to fostering homeless animals in our community. While we are not a shelter, we facilitate adoptions at local events for these animals. Our volunteers actively assist at area shelters, focusing primarily on those shelter animals that are at immediate risk of euthanasia. Most of the animals we assist come from local shelters and are cared for in private foster homes or boarding facilities until they are placed in loving and qualified permanent homes. All animals are fully vetted prior to adoption, receiving vaccinations and spaying or neutering. We operate as a self-funded organization and rely entirely on volunteer support.
