Adoption Process
Our website provides comprehensive information about our adoption process, including pictures and biographies of all available dogs. Interested adopters must complete an adoption application in full. Our Adoption Committee will review the application and reach out to the potential adopter to gather additional details. The committee is also responsible for conducting reference checks. After this step, a home visit will be arranged, followed by a meet and greet for the adopter and their family to interact with the Dachshund. Please note that all of our dogs are in foster homes with our volunteers, so there is no central location for visits.
Service Areas
Our primary service areas include Central Texas, specifically Austin, San Antonio, Waco, San Angelo, Houston, and Dallas.
Central Texas Dachshund Rescue in Humble, TX
Our mission is to rehabilitate and rehome dachshunds that need a second chance at life. The Carolina Dachshund Rescue (CTDR) was established in September 2000. Since then, our membership has increased annually, allowing us to provide more foster families and volunteers dedicated to finding loving, permanent homes for our dachshunds.
