Operation Pets Alive in The Woodlands, TX

Operation Pets Alive! is dedicated to promoting a No-Kill movement for homeless dogs and cats in our community. We recognize that many residents share our commitment to improving the lives of these animals. Our goal is to enhance community awareness and encourage active participation in addressing the challenges faced by homeless pets. As a non-profit organization run entirely by volunteers, we are focused on transforming Montgomery County into a No-Kill community through a variety of innovative programs. These initiatives aim to raise awareness, decrease the number of dogs and cats entering shelters, and increase the number of animals that leave shelters alive.

Adopting from Operation Pets Alive

Adoption process

The adoption process involves several steps. First, you must complete OPA's adoption application and adoption contract. After submission, OPA will review your application and get in touch with you. Next, we will arrange a meeting for you to interact with the pet you are interested in adopting. Upon approval of your application, we retain the right to conduct a home visit. The adoption fees are structured as follows: For dogs, the fee is $160 each, which covers current vaccinations, spaying/neutering, deworming, and heartworm testing for adults. For pet cats, the fee is $80 each, including current vaccinations, spaying/neutering, deworming, and FIV/FeLV testing. For pet cats that are micro-chipped, the fee is $100 each, which also includes current vaccinations, spaying/neutering, deworming, FIV/FeLV testing, and micro-chipping. Texas barn cats are available for adoption at a fee of $50 each, which covers spaying/neutering, ear tipping, and one year of rabies vaccination.

Service area: We serve Houston, Spring, The Woodlands, Porter, Kingwood, New Caney, Magnolia, Willis, and other nearby areas, as well as Montgomery and Harris County.
