Adoption Process

Once an adopter has selected an animal, they must schedule an appointment with a local veterinarian to have the animal spayed or neutered and vaccinated for rabies. We will hold the animal until the appointment date and time, at which point we will transport the animal to the veterinarian for the necessary procedures. The adopter will then pick up the animal from the veterinarian's office. The adoption process involves a fee of $10.00, as well as a $50.00 voucher for spaying or neutering, which is required for all animals that have not already been altered. Residents of Carrollton are also required to purchase a city registration for $5.00. Any costs incurred beyond the $50.00 voucher provided at the veterinary office will be the responsibility of the adopter. Puppies and kittens under 4 months of age will be placed under a contract, but all associated fees will still apply.

Service Areas

The City of Carrollton allows residents to adopt pets, but individuals from any city are welcome to participate in the adoption process.
