Adoption Process

Jeff Tarpley Rescue encourages inquiries from homeowners and residents of condos and apartments. To adopt, individuals must complete an adoption application, which must be approved, followed by signing an adoption contract. We consider applications from residents in all 50 states and Canada who are at least 18 years old. Adoption fees vary based on the costs associated with vetting, treating, and caring for the animals.

My name is Jeff Tarpley, and I operate as an independent animal rescuer in the Texarkana area, spanning Texas and Arkansas. As a sole rescuer, I am dedicated to improving the lives of animals in need. The animals featured on this site have been rescued from shelters and through owner surrenders. Each animal receives comprehensive veterinary care, which includes spaying or neutering, rabies vaccinations, heartworm testing, treatment for heartworm if positive, and initiation of heartworm prevention and flea control. Any animal requiring additional veterinary care is also treated accordingly. All expenses related to veterinary care and the well-being of the animals are covered by me personally. In June 2007, I began transporting rescued and adopted animals across the four-state area. My first transport involved an abused German Shepherd Dog named Wilson, who I rescued from Louisiana and took to Minnesota. His story has stayed with me, and since then, I have traveled over 43,000 miles in support of these animals. I will continue to transport, donate, and assist other rescue groups, but my primary focus remains on helping animals that face significant challenges to their survival.
