Saginaw County Animal Care & Control in Saginaw, MI

Saginaw County Animal Care Center operates as an open admission shelter, accommodating up to 30 cats and over 90 dogs. All animals are examined by a veterinarian upon intake if any visible health issues are detected. If health concerns arise while the animals are in our care, they are promptly taken to the vet. We collaborate with various rescues and humane societies to enhance the chances of these animals finding permanent homes. Additionally, we maintain a volunteer program and welcome new volunteers at any time. Our hours of operation are as follows: Monday through Friday: 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with adoption hours from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The adoption fee for cats is $50, which includes spaying or neutering, an FIV/FeLV test, and a rabies vaccine. Cats also receive an FVRCP vaccine, deworming, flea prevention, and a general wellness check. For dogs, the adoption fee is $125, covering spaying or neutering, a heartworm test, and a rabies vaccine. Dogs are also given a DHPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, deworming, flea medication, a general wellness check, and a microchip. Any animal that is too young or has a health condition preventing immediate spaying or neutering will require a refundable deposit of $100, which will be returned upon proof of surgery. All dogs undergo temperament testing prior to entering the adoption program. If you already own a dog, a meet and greet is required, and you must present up-to-date licenses and rabies vaccination records. We also offer special adoption rates throughout the year, which will be announced at those times. Donations can be made in person at the shelter, purchased through our Amazon wish list, or sent via PayPal.
