Adoption Process

All prospective adopters are required to submit an application. Adoption donations typically range from $50 to $150, and may be higher depending on the medical expenses associated with each pet.

We serve Yakima, Benton, and the surrounding counties, including Prosser, Grandview, Sunnyside, Benton City, the Tri-Cities area, Finley, Wapato, Alderdale, and many others.

Out West Pet Rescue in Prosser, WA

Since our rescue began in August 2005, we have successfully placed over 2,600 dogs in loving homes. Our primary challenge is that many people in our community do not spay or neuter their pets. This often leads to situations where families adopt a puppy, but decide to give it up around the age of one. Both humane societies in our area are currently at capacity and are referring animals to us. We are grateful to see the growing number of people opening their hearts to our rescue efforts. We are always in search of families willing to foster these animals until they find permanent homes. We regularly receive feedback and photos of our adopted pets with their new families, which we happily share with our fosters.
