Adoption Process
The adoption fee is set at $150.00. To be considered for adoption, applicants must meet the following criteria: - You must be at least 18 years old. - You must have a fenced yard. - You must provide identification that verifies your current address. - You must have the knowledge and consent of your landlord regarding pet ownership. - You must be willing and able to invest the time and resources necessary for training, medical care, and overall proper care of the pet.

The service area includes Lafayette Parish and the surrounding Acadiana region, which encompasses 22 parishes: Acadia, Ascension, Assumption, Avoyelles, Calcasieu, Cameron, Evangeline, Iberia, Iberville, Jeff Davis, Lafayette, Lafourche, Pointe Coupee, St. Charles, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary, Terrebonne, Vermilion, and West Baton Rouge.

ARF-LA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing veterinary care, shelter, and adoption services for stray, abandoned, and surrendered companion animals in Lafayette Parish and the surrounding areas. All animals in our care are spayed or neutered and up to date on vaccinations. We conduct screenings for heartworm and other diseases in dogs and provide them with heartworm prevention. We do not euthanize adoptable animals. In recent years, we have successfully placed over 2,000 dogs and cats into loving homes. ARF-LA relies on donations from generous individuals who support our mission, enabling us to continue our work.
