Adoption Process

We primarily accept animals from high-kill shelters, animal control, and through public surrender. Each animal is thoroughly vetted before being transferred to our Rescue Partners or made available for direct adoption to the public. The adoption process includes a spay/neuter application, as well as a background and home check. Our adoption fees range from $150 to $350. All adopted animals must be kept as indoor-only companion pets, and in the event that the adoption does not work out, the animal must be returned to KMR.

KMR Inc. was established in 2010 by Susanne Hoshino with the mission of rescuing homeless animals from high-kill situations. The organization evaluates, provides veterinary care, facilitates adoptions, and transports animals to our Rescue Partners. Additionally, we engage in outreach and education initiatives to promote pet retention and animal welfare.
