Adoption Process

To be eligible for adoption, you must meet the following criteria: You must be at least 23 years old. You must be willing to provide identification that verifies your current address. If you are a renter, you must obtain a signed acknowledgment and permission letter from your landlord permitting you to own and house a dog. You must be able and willing to invest the time and resources necessary for training, medical care, and proper care of the dog for its entire life. Adopting a dog is a lifelong commitment and should be taken seriously. Many of the animals we rescue may be fearful of humans, have experienced abuse or neglect, or come with no background information. Witnessing a dog flourish with love, care, and appropriate boundaries is a rewarding experience. We are committed to supporting you every step of the way after adoption, providing guidance and assistance to ensure a smooth transition for your new dog. Adoption Process: Step One: Complete the Adoption Application. Step Two: The Adoption Application will be reviewed, and the Pits & Pals Adoption Team may follow up with additional questions. This process can take up to one week, depending on your response time to emails. Step Three: If your Adoption Application is approved, the Pits & Pals Adoption Coordinator will contact you to arrange a meet and greet at a neutral location with you and any other household members. Step Four: If necessary, a second meet and greet will be scheduled for dog introductions for families with resident dogs, also at a neutral location. Step Five: If all goes well and all parties are ready to proceed, a Home Check will be arranged. The Adoption Coordinator will visit your home for a visual inspection, review and sign the adoption paperwork, collect the adoption fee as indicated in the pet's listing, and bring the dog you are adopting. Step Six: Provide your new dog with a lifetime of love and adventures! Please note that Pits & Pals K9 Rescue reserves the right to refuse adoption to anyone for any reason.

PITS & PALS K9 RESCUE INC in SACRAMENTO, CA

Pits & Pals K9 Rescue is a non-profit organization based in Sacramento, CA, dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and placing stray, neglected, and shelter dogs with caring and responsible families. Our mission is inclusive; we do not discriminate based on age, breed, or ease of placement. Instead, we focus on each dog's temperament and their potential to become loving companions. Prior to adoption, all dogs undergo temperament evaluations, are sterilized, microchipped, and have their vaccinations updated. Operated entirely by volunteers and foster caregivers, our organization depends on adoption fees and donations to fund veterinary care, food, supplies, medications, and other essential expenses. We are grateful for the support of our dedicated fosters, volunteers, and the generous contributions from our community. We invite you to join us in providing these dogs with a second chance at life and a forever home filled with love.
