Adoption process

All applicants undergo a thorough screening process and must meet specific qualifications before being considered for the adoption of a terrier. First, applicants are required to review the Bad Dog Talk, which outlines the challenges of owning a Jack Russell Terrier (JRT). Next, every applicant must complete an adoption form, available in both online and printed formats. It is essential that all rescue dogs have proper containment, such as a fence or kennel. We do not place dogs in homes with children under six years of age, and very few of our dogs are compatible with cats. Additionally, we typically do not place terriers of the same sex together in one household due to potential fighting. We advise against adopting JRTs for metropolitan living situations and do not recommend placing terriers in homes where they would be left alone for extended periods. While we appreciate your patience, compatible terriers may not be immediately available. Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee the placement of a terrier with you. All terriers in our rescue are spayed or neutered, and an adoption fee is required by Russell Rescue, Inc. Lastly, an adoption contract must be signed to complete the process.
