Adoption Process

Our adoption process begins with a phone interview, supplemented by email correspondence. If an in-person home check is not possible, we request photos and videos of your home, family, and yard space. If everything meets our standards, we will arrange a meet and greet. Should the meet and greet be successful, we will review and finalize the adoption contracts, which must be signed to complete the adoption process. At this point, the adoption fee will be paid. Adoption fees range from $500 to $1,500, depending on the veterinary costs associated with each dog, the time they have spent with us, and the training we have provided. We adhere to all veterinary recommendations, which include spaying/neutering, vaccinations, and microchipping. Additionally, we conduct dental cleanings or extractions when needed, treat ear infections, perform hernia repairs, and remove masses as necessary. We also conduct blood work and X-rays if required, based on the dog's age or any concerns raised by our team or the veterinarian. Our adoption fees reflect the comprehensive care we provide for each dog.

Service Areas

We accept adoptions from all over the United States, provided that the adopter travels to our location or covers the transportation costs for us to travel to them.

Bread of Life K9 Refuge in HESPERIA, CA

I am the owner and operator of Bread of Life K9 Refuge, which I run alongside my husband and our children. We are a faith-based, family-run organization that we established five years ago. We take in many dogs that eventually find loving adoptive families, but we also care for those that cannot be adopted, providing them with a happy ending. Our mission is to fulfill God's purpose in our lives by continuing our work behind the scenes with numerous cases of hospice, abuse, neglect, and abandonment. God's faithfulness, unwavering grace, and strong foundation in our lives have empowered us to embark on this meaningful journey, allowing us to give animals a second chance and fulfill God's promise of a better tomorrow.
