Adoption Process

To begin the adoption process, please contact us via phone or email to express your interest. We will then arrange a meeting to discuss the details and requirements of the adoption. Following this meeting, we will proceed with the adoption process.

AVA The Rabbit Haven in Scotts Valley, CA

The Rabbit Haven and Cavy Haven are volunteer-driven, community-based programs located in the North Bay Area of California. We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, founded in 1987. Each year, we rescue approximately 700 rabbits and small animals, sourcing them from local shelters and the community. Our organization collaborates with shelters and rescue groups to facilitate the rescue, transfer, and placement of rabbits in need. We host three adoption events each month in Santa Cruz, Campbell, and Los Gatos, where rabbits, guinea pigs, and hamsters are available for adoption. Our adoption packages include a free education packet, comprehensive training, a complimentary first veterinary exam with an exotic veterinarian, a free home health check and nail trim on the day of adoption, bonding services, and discount coupons for pet supplies. As a fully foster-based organization, we operate with 167 foster homes and continue to expand our network weekly. Our dedicated team of over 200 volunteers is essential in achieving our program objectives. Additionally, The Haven runs four supplementary programs to support rabbit caregivers, including nail trimming and grooming clinics held twice a month, home health check services, and a retail section called BunnyBee that provides supplies for rabbits and small animals.
