German Shepherd Rescue of Northern California
P.O. Box 1930 Cupertino, California 95015About this shelter
German Shepherd Rescue of Northern California in Cupertino, CA
Our mission is to rescue German Shepherd Dogs from life-threatening situations in animal shelters and other environments. We aim to find permanent, loving homes for these dogs with qualified owners. Additionally, we assist current owners who can no longer care for their German Shepherds in locating new homes for them. We collaborate with animal shelters and other rescue organizations in our community to achieve our shared goals of saving dogs' lives and addressing pet overpopulation. We also focus on educating the public about the benefits of adopting dogs from shelters and rescue groups, as well as the importance of spaying and neutering pets. Furthermore, we provide information to current and prospective German Shepherd Dog owners regarding their proper care, training, and other breed-specific considerations.

Adoption process
Our adoption process is structured to ensure that you and the right dog can connect effectively. We aim to place every dog in a permanent, safe, and loving home. To prioritize the safety of young children and the well-being of younger dogs, we only allow adoptions of dogs aged four years and older to families with children under the age of seven. To adopt a German Shepherd Dog from us, you must meet the following requirements: You must reside in Northern California. You are required to complete an Adoption Questionnaire, which can be submitted online or in hard copy (PDF format). If you do not own your home, your landlord must fill out and submit the Landlord Permission Agreement (PDF format). You will need to participate in an interview with an adoption counselor. A home visit will be conducted by a GSRNC adoption counselor. You must select a dog and be selected by the dog. With our approval, you will sign our Adoption Agreement and pay the associated adoption fee. At the time of adoption, we will also collect a deposit that will be refunded after you complete two training sessions.
