About this shelter
Act 2 Rescue in Riverside, CA
Act 2 Rescue was established following my rescue of an 18-month-old feral cat from my neighbor's property. With the support of the community, I was able to provide care for this animal, leveraging my experience as a medically retired individual. This initial rescue motivated me to assist additional animals and facilitate their rehoming. Over the past nine months, my efforts have expanded significantly, prompting the need for a more organized database to manage our initiatives. I have completed a Veterinary Assistant course and hold an Associate's degree in Pre-Med/Science, a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, and a Master's degree in Education. I spent 18 years teaching students with mild learning disabilities before retiring due to health issues. I find that animals, particularly cats, have a unique healing presence. I am passionate about sharing this perspective with others and promoting responsible cat ownership. I take great joy in finding happy and healthy homes for animals and aspire to grow our efforts to help even more in the future.

Adopting from Act 2 Rescue
Adoption process
The adoption process includes several steps: completing an adoption application, participating in a Zoom meeting, conducting a home visit, and arranging a meet and greet. Once these steps are completed, an adoption contract will be signed. Follow-up phone calls and, occasionally, visits will take place to check on the new family. Assistance will be provided as needed after the adoption is finalized.
