After that, there will be a meet and greet with the animal. A home interview and inspection will also be required. Once these steps are completed, the adoption contract will need to be signed. sammie's boarding school for wayward kittens in vallejo, CA
My name is Renee, and I have a deep passion for animals that has been a part of my life since childhood. My first pet was a duck we rescued from slaughter when I was just four years old. My genuine love for animals has always been evident; at gatherings, I often find myself following the animals around, engaging with them. The first pet I truly had was a cat named Sam, affectionately called Sammie. He is the inspiration behind this rescue organization, which reflects his loving spirit. Sammie had a special fondness for kittens and would always form strong bonds with them. Despite his sometimes grumpy demeanor, the presence of kittens brought out his youthful side and brightened his days. He was an extraordinary companion who was not only my best friend but also my protector. He served as my emotional support animal, often sensing my needs before I was even aware of them. His ability to comfort me during difficult times was truly remarkable. I established this rescue in Sammie's memory, driven by our shared love for cats and kittens in need. My focus is primarily on adoptable cats that have been caught through trap-neuter-return (TNR) programs, preventing them from breeding and being left outdoors. My goal is to bring these cats indoors where they can be adopted, addressing a complex issue with a straightforward solution. The more adoptable cats I can rescue and spay or neuter, the better the situation becomes. Additionally, I have a special mission to assist pregnant mother cats and their kittens found outdoors, as they are particularly vulnerable and hold a special place in my heart. Recently, I had the experience of delivering my first litter of kittens, which I consider one of my proudest achievements. The delivery was challenging, and both the mother and kittens faced various issues initially. However, I am thrilled to report that they are now all healthy and ready for adoption, and I take great pride in their progress. I also make it a priority to return to colonies and TNR sites to help reduce population growth and inform larger organizations I collaborate with about cats in need. I believe in closing the loop to ensure that all cats receive assistance and that no one is left behind. As a small rescue, this can sometimes be challenging to achieve on my own.
