Adoption Process

The adoption process includes several steps to ensure a suitable match between the pet and the adopter. Initially, potential adopters will undergo an interview followed by a meet and greet with the pet. A home check is also conducted to evaluate the living environment. Interested adopters must complete an adoption application and sign a contract. It is required that the property has a minimum six-foot fence. Additionally, pets should be crated or confined within the home when left alone. For certain dogs, preference will be given to adopters who are home for most of the day. Basic training is encouraged, and it is recommended that adopters consider obtaining pet insurance.

TLC K9 Rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing care, comfort, and compassion to dogs in need. Our mission is to rescue as many abandoned, abused, and neglected dogs as possible and to offer them loving environments until they find permanent homes where they will be cherished. We also strive to engage our community to help end the euthanasia of shelter dogs. As an all-volunteer organization, we rely entirely on donations from generous supporters to fund our efforts.
