Shamrock Rescue Foundation in Santa Ana, CA
Shamrock Rescue Foundation is dedicated to rescuing dogs and other animals that are at risk of being euthanized in public shelters. Many of these animals have little to no hope for a better future. Without our intervention, numerous animals that are now living happy lives with loving families would not have had the opportunity for a second chance. We do not discriminate based on breed, size, or age, serving as advocates for all animals that cannot advocate for themselves. Our dogs are placed in foster homes or boarding facilities until they can be matched with permanent homes. Upon arrival, all of our animals receive a thorough veterinary examination as soon as possible. We conduct blood work to assess their health and determine any necessary treatments. If medical care is required, we ensure that it is provided. Additionally, all animals are microchipped and spayed or neutered.

Adopting from Shamrock Rescue Foundation
Adoption process
The adoption application can be completed at any point: before meeting the dog, during the meeting, or after the encounter. The process begins with an initial discussion with potential adopters. This is followed by a meet and greet with the dog, which may involve interactions with both people and other dogs, or just people during the first visit. If necessary, additional meetings can be arranged to help the dog and any existing pets in the home become comfortable with each other, or to allow the dog to adjust to the adopters. A home check will be conducted, which can take place after the meet and greet or concurrently with further meetings. Once everything is in order, an adoption agreement will be finalized. It is important to note that we are committed to taking our dogs back if the adoption does not work out. The adoption fee for most dogs is $200. In certain cases, such as for older dogs or those with medical issues, the fee may be reduced or waived, particularly for foster caregivers or individuals who have provided care and financial support for the dog. If a dog is returned to us within two weeks of adoption, we will refund the adoption fee. After this period, the fee will be retained, but we will always accept the dog back.
