Adoption Process

Adoption Process: We carefully evaluate each application received and may approve or decline applications based on the suitability of the home for each specific animal. Requirements may differ depending on the animal, considering factors such as household members, type of residence, and energy levels. Adopters may be required to undergo home inspections, and if they have existing pets, a meeting between all animals is necessary before finalizing the adoption. Adoption and Donation Fees: For canines, the fees are as follows: Puppies (under 7 months) - $250, Adult Dogs (7 months and older) - $200, and Senior or Special Needs Dogs - a donation of your choice. The classification of senior dogs will depend on their breed. All dog adoptions qualify for a $50 rebate upon proof of completion of a Basic Manners training and education class, which we are in the process of organizing. Additionally, a further $50 rebate is available if the dog achieves Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification within six months. Please note that we are not currently offering this program but may do so in the future. The rebate will expire six months after adoption. This offer is invalid if the entire course is not completed. For felines, Senior and Special Needs Cats are available for a donation of your choice, with seniors classified as cats aged six years and older according to Maddies Fund Senior Program guidelines. The fees for kittens are $125 (or $155 for two), $50 for cats between six months and one year, and $25 for cats over one year. For foster adoptions, the foster can pay a minimum at-cost fee for the animal as their adoption donation, provided they agree to foster again. If the foster is unable to foster again, they must pay the standard adoption fee for the animal.
