Adoption Process

At Forte Animal Rescue, our volunteers will collaborate with you to determine your preferences and requirements for a suitable companion animal for your home. We have an Adoption Questionnaire for Dogs or Cats that addresses key factors we believe are important for helping you find your new companion and facilitating a smooth transition for both you and the animal. Once we review your questionnaire, one of our volunteers may recommend animals that align well with your lifestyle and arrange for you to meet them during our Weekend Adoptions or at their foster homes, allowing you to get acquainted. If you find an animal you connect with immediately, please ensure you have read the "Before You Adopt" section, as adopting a pet is a significant decision that impacts both you and the animal. We can then move forward to the next step of the adoption process, known as the "Home Safety Check." An Adoption Fee is required, along with a signed adoption agreement, which stipulates that if, for any reason, you are unable to keep the animal, you must return them to Forte Animal Rescue. Finally, we will personally deliver your new family member to your home.

Forte Animal Rescue in Marina del Rey, CA

Our Mission: Our mission is to inspire compassion and responsibility towards animals while rescuing, rehabilitating, and finding homes for companion animals. Our Profile: Forte Animal Rescue is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing pet overpopulation. We collaborate with the community to strengthen the human-animal bond through various educational programs and activities. Our Objectives: Founded in January 2003, our organization aims to serve as a central resource for individuals and the rescue community, fostering collaboration to achieve the shared goal of saving as many animals as possible. We strive to prevent pet abandonment by providing support through our Outreach Program. This includes advising pet owners on alternatives to surrendering their animals, connecting them with suitable trainers for specific behavioral issues, and assisting in finding new homes for pets through our Adoption Program. Additionally, we act as a bridge between animals and the general public. Our educational initiatives are designed to enhance understanding of pet ownership responsibilities, addressing the knowledge gaps that often lead to the abandonment of companion animals.
