Adoption Process

To adopt from Animals Rule, please follow these steps: First, identify a dog you are interested in and complete the application available under the "Application to Adopt" section on our website, www.animalsrule.org. If you see a dog’s picture on our website, it is still available, as our website is always updated. When filling out your application, provide as much information as possible; detailed responses improve your chances of approval, as we prefer comprehensive answers over simple yes or no replies. Next, attend our adoption event held every Saturday from 11 AM to 3 PM. If you have another dog, please bring it along. If you live a considerable distance away, we ask that you bring pictures of your home, yard, fencing, gates, and the area where the dog will sleep, either printed or on your device. You may also email us these pictures for review before traveling, as we typically conduct home checks in 90% of cases. You will be interviewed in the order your application is received. Please note that if you arrive without submitting an application, you will be placed at the end of the line. Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt a dog, and you are free to change your mind at any time. We will review your application and, if everything is in order, you will be able to adopt and take the dog home. Please come prepared for the event. For the best communication, please use email at [email protected].

Animals Rule Placement Foundation in San Pedro, CA

Animals Rule Placement Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in San Pedro, California. Our organization relies entirely on donations, adoption fees, and fundraising efforts, as we do not receive any funding from city, county, or government sources. All tax-deductible donations are used exclusively for the welfare and veterinary care of the animals in our care. Founded in 2003 by Stephanie Crawford, Animals Rule Placement Foundation is comprised of a dedicated group of unpaid volunteers committed to rescuing and fostering animals in need of adoption. We advocate for the spaying and neutering of all animals, regardless of breed, to help prevent pet overpopulation. Our mission includes reducing the number of dogs euthanized in local shelters by providing basic training for dogs requiring behavioral modification. We ensure that sick or injured animals receive the necessary veterinary care and rehabilitation. Our dogs come from various sources, including city and county shelters, as well as those that are stray, neglected, abandoned, or abused.
