Adoption Process

Adopting a dachshund involves a thorough screening process to ensure that each dog is placed in a safe and loving forever home. Our adoption procedures are designed to match the right dachshund with your lifestyle. First, you will need to complete an application. This application is intended to help us assess which of our rescue dachshunds would be the best fit for you based on your needs and experience. Once we review your application, we will reach out to you with our decision. Next, we will arrange a home check. During this visit, one of our representatives will come to your home to meet you, your household members, and any other pets you may have. Finally, if approved for adoption, you will be required to sign a binding contract that details the responsibilities expected of adoptive parents. To be considered as an adopter, you must be at least 21 years old and provide identification that confirms your current address. If you are renting your home, you will need to have your landlord's consent and provide their contact information. Additionally, you should be prepared to invest the time and resources necessary for training, medical care, and overall well-being of your dachshund. An adoption fee will be required, which helps us cover the costs associated with boarding, veterinary care, spaying or neutering, and vaccinations for your new pet. Adoption fees vary based on the age, health, and medical needs of each dachshund. If you have any questions, please feel free to email us.
